Tseyang tumps on her Mummy's tummy
as if it's a trampoline.
She twists and tumbles and tangoes
until her Gesicht goes green.
She plays tiddly-winks topsy-turvy.
She's a tadpole on a trapeze.
She toboggans and trounces and tiptoes
from appendix to gizard
and spleen.
I wrote this poem for my granddaughter,
Tenzin Tseyang Gyaltsen, twelve weeks before she was born. Gesicht is the German word
for face and like all nouns in German is capitalized.
